The Saudi Gulf Club announced its official contract with Portuguese coach Jose Gomez, to take over the leadership of the first football team starting in the new season.

The club revealed, through its account on the “X” platform, that Gomez’s contract extends for two seasons, in a move that comes after his recent experience in the Saudi League with Al-Fateh.

The Portuguese coach had succeeded in leading Al-Fateh to remain in the Saudi League during the season before last, before the team finished the last season in eleventh place with 37 points.

There had previously been reports of Al-Ahly’s interest in contracting with Gomez, before Al-Khaleej officially announced the conclusion of the agreement with him.

Al-Khaleej finished last season in 12th place in the Saudi League table, after collecting 37 points.

Gomez is expected to begin preparations for the new season during the coming period, in coordination with the club management and the administrative and technical staff.
