Press reports revealed new developments regarding the condition of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal, before his expected participation with the Spain national team in the 2026 World Cup.
Yamal is on the final list chosen by coach Luis de la Fuente for the World Cup, which is scheduled to start later next June.
The Barcelona player suffers from an injury he suffered during the Celta Vigo match last April.
The Spanish newspaper “eldesmarque” reported that Yamal does not want to risk the recovery phase, as he continues to come daily to Barcelona’s training ground to receive treatment under the supervision of club doctors.
According to the newspaper, Spain’s first two matches in the World Cup against Cape Verde and Saudi Arabia seem relatively easier, which makes the player prefer not to rush his return.
She indicated that Yamal is setting the third match in the group stage against Uruguay, next Saturday, June 27, as a target date for returning to the stadiums.
Yamal will not participate in the first two matches, even for a few minutes, unless he fully recovers, provided that the treatment process is completed without any setback.
