The “Beirut Marathon” Association will organize next Sunday, July 5, a “city race” for a distance of 10 kilometers from Martyrs’ Square in central Beirut all the way to the Zaytouna area.
The association limited the number of participants to 2,000 male and female runners only, with registration open to those aged 12 years and above. She called on those wishing to participate to register quickly before next June 20 via the beirutmarathon.org platform
The event also witnesses the launch of the first competition for non-professional running clubs in Lebanon, which aims to enhance the spirit of challenge and teamwork among local sports communities.
The competition will be based on individual performance, as the fastest male and female runners representing the participating clubs will be crowned, with financial prizes worth $250 for each male and female winner. The association or club with the largest number of runners finishing the race will also receive a cup.
