Press reports said, today, Wednesday, that the Turkish club Fenerbahce has entered into preliminary consultations to contract with Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah, the English Liverpool star, during the upcoming summer transfer market.

According to the “Cout of Side” website, Salah, who recently announced his intention to end his career with Liverpool, is keen to continue playing at the highest levels, which opens the door to the possibility of him moving to Fenerbahce, with whom he has made preliminary contacts.

Reports also indicate the interest of a number of Saudi League clubs, most notably Al-Nasr, Al-Hilal, Al-Ahly and Al-Qadisiyah, in including the player, at a time when previous negotiations between Salah’s agent and Al-Ittihad Club were halted.

The Saudi offers included an annual salary of up to $30 million, in addition to a signing bonus estimated at about $20 million, according to the same source.

On the other hand, private sources reported to the website that Salah may give his initial approval to move to Fenerbahce if the negotiations are resolved positively.

The sources explained that the Turkish club made an “unofficial offer” to Salah during preliminary talks, and the Egyptian star expressed his willingness to accept a salary ranging between 12 and 13 million euros annually in order to continue playing in Europe.

The website said that Salah has not completely closed the door to moving to Saudi Arabia, but his current priority is to continue his ambitious sports project.

One of the sources said: “Salah is very ambitious, and at the present time I do not see him going to Saudi Arabia, and things look positive.”

Salah is playing his last matches in a Liverpool shirt after a journey that lasted nine seasons, and Brentford’s last match will be next Sunday in Salah’s career in a “Reds” shirt. (Sky News)
