The Iraqi Ministry of Planning announced the adoption of 6 procedures to prevent the leakage of non-conforming goods, while noting that the application of the “ASYCUDA” system contributed to preventing the entry of non-conforming goods into Iraq.

The Ministry’s spokesman, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, said on Sunday, “The Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control of the Ministry of Planning continues its work of pre-inspecting imported goods and commodities.”

He explained that “the agency contracts with international inspection companies to examine imports in the country of origin before shipping them to Iraq,” noting that “there are follow-up checks at the border crossings to ensure that the goods are not subject to tampering or fraud during the shipping journey, and the application of the electronic tracking system known as (ASYCUDA) also contributes to preventing the entry of counterfeit goods or goods that do not conform to specifications,” according to the Iraqi News Agency “INA.”
