Three informed sources reported that the United States allowed about 10 Chinese companies to purchase the H200 artificial intelligence chip, the second most powerful chip produced by Nvidia, according to Reuters.

According to the sources, “No shipment has been delivered yet, keeping a huge technology deal in a state of suspense, as CEO Jensen Huang seeks a breakthrough in China this week.”

The American company “Nvidia”, the electronic chip manufacturing giant, was accused of developing artificial intelligence models that benefited the Chinese army through the “DeepSEC” company, which obtained those models.

The head of the House Committee on China said, in a letter that was revealed, that the American company “NVIDIA”, which manufactures electronic chips, helped the Chinese company “DeepSEC” to refine artificial intelligence models that were later used by the Chinese army.

“Deep Sec” shook the markets early last year with a set of artificial intelligence models that competed with some of the best American applications, but were developed using much less expensive means.

This has raised concerns in Washington that China may catch up with the United States in the field of artificial intelligence, despite US restrictions on the sale of advanced computing chips to China.

Republican Representative John Moolenaar said, in his letter addressed to Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, that “the documents obtained by the committee from Nvidia showed that this achievement came after extensive technical assistance from the American company.”
