Threat from Tehran: Stay away from American universities in the Middle East!

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard threatened to target American universities in the Middle East, against the backdrop of what it said were American and Israeli strikes that targeted educational institutions inside Iran.

The Revolutionary Guard said, in a statement reported by Iranian media, that the US government must condemn the bombing of universities in an official statement before noon on Monday, March 30, warning that failure to do so may expose these universities in the region to “retaliatory responses.”

The Revolutionary Guard also called on employees, professors, and students of American universities in the region to stay at least one kilometer away from these institutions, indicating that they may be targeted.

There are branches of a number of American universities in the Gulf countries, including Texas A&M University in Qatar and New York University in the United Arab Emirates, in addition to other branches in Lebanon.

This threat comes after reports of strikes targeting university facilities inside Iran, as on Friday night – Saturday, explosions were heard in Tehran, targeting the University of Science and Technology in the northeast of the city, which led to damage to the buildings, but no casualties were reported.
