In a worrying security development that comes in light of escalating tensions in the region, the General Administration of Civil Aviation in Kuwait revealed today, Wednesday, that a fuel tank at Kuwait International Airport was attacked by drones. This attack resulted in a fire, but fortunately it did not result in any human casualties.
In a statement, the authority confirmed that “the competent authorities immediately began implementing the approved emergency procedures,” and explained that the fire brigades and concerned authorities are actively dealing with the fire, and that all relevant security and administrative agencies are present at the site to monitor and control the situation.
This attack comes at a time of dangerous escalation in regional tensions, as confrontations increase and the scope of targeting expands to include vital facilities and strategic infrastructure, especially in the energy and transportation sectors.
