No worries about bread: The Bakeries Syndicate confirms that what happened in Sidon was an exception

The head of the Bakery Workers Union in Beirut and Mount Lebanon, Shehada Al-Masry, assured citizens in Lebanon that the bread situation is stable and there is no need for concern, stressing that bakeries are continuing to operate as usual. He pointed out in a statement that the shortage that appeared in the city of Sidon yesterday was a result of the “Eid holiday” and the pressure resulting from the large displacement movement from the south due to the ongoing war, stressing that bread is now available in bakeries and stores.

Al-Masry spoke about the harsh conditions that workers in this sector face as a result of the ongoing attacks, and the resulting displacement, displacement, and closure of many institutions and bakeries, strongly criticizing the “total absence” of government agencies responsible for following up on their affairs and fate.

Al-Masry called on officials, led by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, to pay serious attention to the suffering of workers who lost their sources of livelihood and their homes, noting that many of those who were unable to reach shelter centers had registered their data on the Ministry of Social Affairs platform, but have not received any response until this moment.

He concluded his statement by emphasizing the importance of workers’ rights, just as the importance of bread itself, calling on everyone to support the displaced who were forced to leave their jobs and villages.
