The Israeli army spokesman, Avichay Adraee, announced through his account on the “X” platform that the Israeli army carried out last night “a large wave of raids in Tehran that targeted command headquarters, bases, and central sites for the production of combat means.”
Adraee stated that the Israeli Air Force launched an attack with the participation of dozens of warplanes, and targeted sites and infrastructure belonging to the Iranian regime in the capital, Tehran, adding that more than a hundred shells and ammunition were dropped during the operation.
According to the statement, the objectives included:
A base belonging to the Quds Force unit that was used as a headquarters for coordinating and following up on the operational and intelligence activities of the Revolutionary Guard.
Air Defense Headquarters of the Revolutionary Guard.
Headquarters of the Ground Forces of the Revolutionary Guard inside a large military complex in the heart of Tehran, which had previously been targeted.
Intelligence headquarters belonging to the Quds Force unit.
A naval cruise missile production site belonging to the Iranian Ministry of Defense.
Additional production industries and research sites in the areas of electronics, ballistic missiles and warheads.
Adraee confirmed that these raids come within the framework of “the phase of deepening the targeting of the basic systems of the Iranian regime and its pillars,” which indicates a noticeable escalation in the type of targets targeted.
This operation comes in light of the escalation of tension between Israel and Iran, as the confrontation has shifted from indirect strikes and external arenas to direct targeting inside Iran. The volume of munitions used and the nature of the declared objectives reflect a shift towards a more dangerous phase in the course of the conflict.
On the other hand, no detailed official Iranian reaction has yet been issued regarding the extent of losses or the nature of the possible response, amid growing fears that the scope of the conflict will expand and turn into a comprehensive regional confrontation.
