The Bahraini Ministry of Interior issued a statement announcing the arrest of six people for circulating video clips related to what it described as “sinful Iranian aggression” and showing sympathy for it, in addition to praising its hostile actions, spreading false news, and inciting the targeting of sites inside Bahrain.
The statement issued by the Ministry stated that these people published these clips through their accounts on social media, which aims to mislead people and instil fear in the hearts of citizens and residents, as well as harming public security and order.
The statement also explained that appropriate legal measures were taken against them and they were referred to the Public Prosecution.
The Ministry of Interior stressed the importance of obtaining news from its official sources and not circulating or re-publishing any unreliable clips or news to avoid falling foul of the law and to preserve the security and safety of the country.
In a related context, Bahrain had previously announced the arrest of four Bahraini citizens, with the identification of a fifth person “fugitive abroad,” on charges of spying for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard through elements present in Iran.
