The Jordanian Armed Forces and the UAE Ministry of Defense announced that they confronted dozens of Iranian missiles and drones that targeted their territories during the past days, in the context of the repercussions of the ongoing war in the region.
In details, the Jordanian Armed Forces stated that 85 missiles and drones were launched from Iran towards Jordanian territory during the second week of the war, targeting vital sites inside the Kingdom.
The Military Information Directorate explained that the Royal Air Force was able to intercept 79 missiles and drones, while five drones and one missile fell inside Jordanian territory because they could not be intercepted.
The Jordanian Armed Forces stressed their continued duty to defend the Kingdom and protect it from any attack, and to harness all capabilities to preserve the country’s security and the safety of its citizens.
For his part, the media spokesman for the Jordanian Public Security Directorate reported that civil defense and police teams dealt with 93 reports during the past week as a result of falling objects and fragments of missiles and drones in most governorates.
He added that civil defense teams treated nine injuries resulting from these accidents, which were described as moderate. The injured were transferred to hospitals and left after receiving treatment.
As for the UAE, the UAE Ministry of Defense announced that its air defenses responded today to 9 ballistic missiles and 33 drones coming from Iran.
The Ministry stated that since the beginning of the Iranian attacks, 294 ballistic missiles and 15 mobile missiles have been intercepted, in addition to 1,600 drones.
These attacks resulted in six deaths of Emirati, Pakistani, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi nationalities, in addition to 141 minor and moderate injuries, including various nationalities.
The UAE Ministry of Defense confirmed that its forces are fully prepared to deal with any threats and firmly confront everything that aims to destabilize the security of the state, ensuring the protection of its sovereignty, stability and national capabilities.
It should be noted that the war that broke out last February 28 between the United States and Israel on the one hand and Iran on the other hand has entered its third week, amid international concern about the possibility of its continuation, especially with the launching of missiles and drones across the airspace of the Gulf states, despite the objection of most of them, in addition to the expansion of the conflict to include Iraq and Lebanon.
On the other hand, fears are increasing about the continued paralysis of the vital Strait of Hormuz, through which about a fifth of the world’s gas and oil shipments pass, after its closure by Iran as a result of attacks targeting ships led to a significant rise in oil prices.
US President Donald Trump said in a post on his “Truth Social” platform earlier today that Iran “has been completely defeated and wants to conclude an agreement, but it will not be an agreement that I agree to.”
