The Israeli National Security Council issued binding directives to Israelis in the United Arab Emirates, as part of measures announced to aim to preserve their security and safety in view of the security developments taking place in the region.
The Council explained in a statement published through the Prime Minister’s account that Israelis must strictly adhere to a set of preventive measures, the most important of which is avoiding any gatherings or events that have an Israeli character.
The statement also urged people to avoid attending any activity or gathering of an Israeli nature, including not visiting Jewish synagogues or commercial establishments that have a clear Israeli identity, in addition to not participating in any public events related to Israel.
The Council also advised to avoid being at airports unless absolutely necessary, stressing that only holders of valid airline tickets are allowed to be present.
The statement also called on employees of Israeli companies to refrain from going to offices or facilities known to be linked to Israeli operations.
Regarding air travel, the directives stressed avoiding flights that include a temporary “transit” stop in the Emirates, due to the instability of air traffic and the frequent changes that occur to it.
The statement indicated that additional air operations to return Israelis from the UAE to Israel are scheduled to end on Sunday, March 15.
The statement also included instructions on how to deal with drone attacks, based on the recommendations of the Israeli Home Front Command, where it was requested to adhere to the instructions of the local security forces and to respond immediately to any warnings.
The directives called for staying in safe places as much as possible, immediately entering the nearest building and going up to the second floor, while avoiding the ground floor due to the dangers of explosion and shrapnel.
She also advised choosing an interior room with the largest possible number of walls and the fewest windows, and sitting below the level of the windows, away from directly facing the door.
In the event that a building cannot be reached or an explosion occurs nearby, the directives advise lying down immediately on the ground while protecting the head with the hands.
In the case of being inside a vehicle, the directives require stopping safely on the side of the road, exiting the vehicle and lying on the ground with head protection.
The Council also indicated that it allocated channels for communication and providing support through its hotline, in addition to following its official accounts on the “Facebook” and “Instagram” platforms.
