In a dangerous development that fuels the ongoing military conflict in the region, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced the implementation of a new batch of missiles as part of an operation called “The True Promise 4,” targeting sites inside Israel, in addition to American military bases stationed in the region.
The Revolutionary Guard reported in an official statement that the forty-fourth wave of this operation was carried out on the night of the twenty-third of the holy month of Ramadan, on the eve of “Jerusalem Day,” under the slogan “O Severe in Punishment,” stressing that this particular operation was marked by the launching of heavy “Khypershkin” missiles, whose warhead weighed a full ton.
The statement explained that Iranian missiles hit targets in the areas of West Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Eilat, in response to what it described as “aggression,” and in commemoration of Iranian military leaders who died in recent confrontations, including the Operations Commander of the Revolutionary Guard, Major General Hossein Salami.
The Revolutionary Guard also announced that the operation also included targeting the “Muwafaq Salti” base, in addition to other American bases in Manama and Erbil, using missiles and drones.
In a very important development, the statement stated that the air defense systems of what it called the “Resistance Front” were able to hit a Boeing KC-130 refueling plane while it was refueling a fighter in the air, killing all six members of its crew.
At the conclusion of its statement, the Revolutionary Guard sent a direct warning to the American forces present in the region, calling on American soldiers to immediately withdraw from the Middle East, and warning that they would become direct targets if they remained.
The statement added that US forces may be targeted anywhere within the region, including hotels, tunnels, industrial zones, and underground shelters.
This announcement comes in light of the ongoing escalation of military tension between the United States and Israel on the one hand and Iran on the other hand, following the massive raids that targeted sites inside Iran on February 28, which were followed by an exchange of missile attacks and drone attacks between the two parties.
In parallel with these developments, the circle of confrontation expanded in the region, as the Lebanese arena witnessed in recent days intense Israeli raids targeting the southern suburbs of Beirut and a number of towns in the south, in conjunction with missile operations that Hezbollah claimed responsibility for carrying out against Israeli sites in the north.
These developments raise growing concern about the expanding scope of the regional confrontation, especially with US military bases in the region coming under direct targeting.
