Press reports revealed the position of Egyptian international Omar Marmoush, the Manchester City star, on the possibility of leaving the English club and moving to Barcelona during the upcoming summer transfer period.
Marmoush had joined Manchester City in January 2025, coming from Eintracht Frankfurt, after his remarkable brilliance with the German team. He quickly succeeded in proving himself during the second half of last season, but his role declined this season in light of his lack of participation under coach Pep Guardiola.
During the last winter transfer period, the player’s name was linked to leaving the Etihad Stadium, in light of the interest of several clubs in including him, including “Aston Villa”, “Tottenham Hotspur”, “Galatasaray” and “Fenerbahce”, but he preferred to stay and compete for a main place.
In recent days, news has emerged of Spanish interest in his services, specifically from Barcelona, which is considering a move to include him in the summer, especially if the contract of Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez is terminated.
According to what the “tribalfootball” network reported from journalist Akram Connor, Marmoush is open to the idea of moving to the Catalan club, and does not mind having a new experience in Spain, provided that he receives an appropriate official offer.
Reports also indicated that Atletico Madrid is showing a similar interest in including the player, but developments in the deal will remain linked to the fate of Julian Alvarez and his possible departure.
