New Liverpool deal Jacquet suffers a serious injury

Jeremy Jacquet, a player recently signed by Liverpool, suffered a “serious” shoulder injury while participating with his Rennes team against Lens in the French Premier League on Saturday. This injury raised concerns about the defender’s ability to catch the start of his career with the “Reds” at Anfield next summer.

It is noteworthy that the match ended with Lens defeating Rennes 3-1. Jacquet suffered a heavy fall in the second half, and showed signs of severe pain as he left the field.

After the match, Rennes coach Habib Biyeh told reporters: “Jeremy was injured in his shoulder, while Abdelhamid (Ait Boudlal, another Rennes player who was injured in the same match) had a muscular injury.”

Payet added: “We will see what happens, but their injuries are really serious.”

Last Monday, Liverpool announced its agreement to sign Jacquet for 60 million pounds ($80 million), with the 20-year-old young defender remaining with Rennes until the end of the current season.

Liverpool, which currently occupies sixth place in the English Premier League, will temporarily host Manchester City on Sunday in the absence of four defenders due to injury, namely: Giovanni Leoni, Joe Gomez, Jeremy Frimpong, and Connor Bradley.
