Huge losses to the Israeli reserves: more than 2,000 killed and hundreds of billions wasted

Retired Israeli General Yitzhak Brik acknowledged that Israel has suffered heavy losses during the past two years of the conflict, with the death toll exceeding 2,000 people, in addition to tens of thousands of wounded, and financial losses estimated at hundreds of billions of shekels. He stressed that these losses led to a significant deterioration in the country’s strength at the national and social levels.

In an interview with Channel 13, Brik admitted that Israel had not succeeded in eliminating the Hamas movement. He explained that Israel had paid a heavy price over two years, including dead and wounded victims suffering from physical and psychological injuries, in addition to massive financial losses. He also pointed out that Israel had lost the support of the international community, explaining that US President Donald Trump believed that Israel was unable to achieve its goals, which prompted him to intervene.

In a related context, the Israeli Ministry of Security reported last month that cases of “post-traumatic stress disorder” among Israeli soldiers have risen by 40% since the start of the war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, with expectations that this percentage will reach 180% by 2028.
