Today, Thursday, FC Barcelona issued a statement announcing the end of the season of young player Roger Martinez, a player for the Barcelona Athletic reserve team, after a severe knee injury that required quick surgical intervention.
The Catalan club reported, in an official medical announcement, that Martinez had undergone a successful surgery to treat a tear in the external meniscus of his right knee, stressing that his period of absence from the field would be relatively long due to the nature of the injury.
The statement also pointed out that the period during which Martinez will be absent will extend from five to six months, which effectively means the end of his current season, and the recovery and rehabilitation program is scheduled to begin during the coming months in preparation for his return with the start of the new season.
