Lebanon commemorates the assassination of martyr Prime Minister Rafik Hariri this year, coinciding with a very delicate phase in the region. This anniversary has become an annual milestone in which the meeting is renewed between Prime Minister Saad Hariri and supporters of the “Future Movement” and the Lebanese, to confirm the path of the martyr president.
Secretary-General of the Future Movement, Ahmed Hariri, confirms that “the anniversary of February 14, as every year, is a national occasion to remember the martyr Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, and to confirm the continuation of his path under the leadership of President Saad Hariri.”
He said, in an interview with the MTV website: “For 21 years, the Future Movement has been accustomed to commemorating the anniversary, with national political and popular spectacles befitting the career of the martyr president and his great legacy, and we will commemorate the anniversary this year, with a popular gathering in Martyrs’ Square, under the slogan #Our_History_Hello_Future.”
Hariri points out that “the slogan, in its content, contains connotations that will be translated into the arena, with the momentum of the popular presence from various Lebanese regions, confirming the stability of popular support for the line of the martyred president led by President Saad Hariri, and the continuation of the march of the Future Movement, and that the decision to suspend political work was not the end of the movement, as some have promoted with their delusions and grudges, but rather “The beginning of a new phase after February 14.”
He adds: “Whoever has an audience like the audience of the Future Movement, which is patient with all campaigns and slander, and who remains steadfast with us in the principles of the martyr president, will continue his path and position, and because whoever has a history based on the great national experience of the martyr president, and after him, of Prime Minister Saad Hariri, “the future is ahead” in order to restore its natural position in the national equation that is today afflicted with a major imbalance. “It must be corrected.”
He continues: “This is what I hear from the people of the movement, its fans, and all those who love it, during my regional tours that I embarked on in the Bekaa Valley last week, and yesterday with the Arab tribes in Khaldeh, and in the coming days in Sidon, the region, the entire north, and the capital, Beirut, in preparation for commemorating the anniversary on February 14, God willing.”
Hariri reveals that “preparations to commemorate the anniversary are in full swing on more than one level, through my tours in the regions, and the coordinators and sectors of the “Future Movement” are in a state of organizational and political alert, and are working like a beehive, centrally and regionally, and everyone is working, with one hand and one heart, in order for February 14, 2026 to be a new turning point in the march of the “Future Movement” led by President Saad Hariri.”
What will the February 14 memorial program include? Hariri points out that “what is certain so far is that Prime Minister Saad Hariri will deliver a speech, but the rest of the popular and organizational details will be announced at the appropriate time.”
Could Saad Hariri announce a return to participate in political life, especially in the upcoming parliamentary elections? In this context, Hariri stresses that “President Saad Hariri’s speech is his property, and February 14 is close to his supervisor, and we will all be with him in Martyrs’ Square to meet the headlines and positions it will carry that mimic the developments and changes, and mimic the concerns of the Lebanese and the “Future Movement” audience at this stage, and answer all questions, especially the question about the parliamentary elections.”
Will President Saad Hariri remain in Lebanon after the anniversary or will he leave? Hariri concludes, stressing that “this matter belongs to the president, and he is the one who decides about it, according to the requirements of the stage.”
