The Portuguese newspaper “Record” reported information about Cristiano Ronaldo’s future with the Saudi club Al-Nassr, explaining that the value of the release clause in his contract amounts to 50 million euros.
The newspaper also reported that Ronaldo, who is 40 years old, may leave Al-Nasr at the end of his contract in June 2026, with the possibility of moving to the American League or returning to playing in Europe.
“Record” explained that Ronaldo is not satisfied with the way the Saudi Investment Fund treats Al-Nasr Club, as the fund owns shares in major Saudi clubs. The Portuguese star believes that the Fund “places obstacles” in front of Al-Nasr’s contracts, which reduces the team’s chances of competing, despite occupying second place in the league, one point behind the leaders.
The newspaper pointed out that Al-Nasr only concluded one deal recently (Iraqi Haider Abdel Karim), while other clubs witnessed major movements, such as Karim Benzema’s transfer from Al-Ittihad to Al-Hilal.
These factors prompted Ronaldo not to participate in his team’s match against Al-Riyadh Club in protest, while stressing that he is focused on achieving his goal of winning the Saudi League and exceeding the 1000th personal goal in his career.
It should be noted that Ronaldo recently agreed to be an ambassador for the 2034 World Cup in Saudi Arabia. (coora)
