French striker Karim Benzema sent a message of appreciation to the Saudi Al-Ittihad and its fans, after leaving the “Tigers” team after a period that lasted nearly two and a half years since he joined them in the summer of 2023, where he won the Professional League and King’s Cup titles with them.
Benzema (38 years old) moved to Al-Hilal Saudi Arabia on a free transfer for a year and a half. On Tuesday night, he posted a picture of himself in an Al-Ittihad shirt via his account on the “X” platform, commenting: “Al-Ittihad, this chapter ends, but the respect and gratitude will remain forever. Thank you to the club, the staff, my teammates, and especially to the fans for the welcome, love, and energy you gave me every day.”
Benzema also stated: “This journey has given me a lot on both a personal and professional level. I leave it with my head held high, proud to wear these colors and of everything we have shared. I wish you all the best in the future.”
