Two schools are in danger of collapse... Students will be transferred starting tomorrow!

The media office at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education issued the following statement:

Following the tragic accident that took place in the city of Tripoli as a result of the collapse of a building and the occurrence of a number of casualties, and in light of talk about the presence of a number of damaged buildings in the city, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education contacted the relevant authorities in the city of Tripoli to ensure that there are no collapsing buildings adjacent to schools.

It was found that there were two schools close to cracked buildings: Al-Farabi School for Boys, which had one hundred and eighty-eight students, and Rawdat Dahr Al-Mughr School, which had eighty-two students.

Immediately, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education contacted UNICEF, and in coordination with the Director of Primary Education and the Head of the Educational District in the North, it was decided to transfer the students of the two aforementioned schools to the Al-Thiqa School building in Al-Qubba, which is a semi-free private school, starting on Tuesday, the third of February, to ensure their safety on the one hand, and to avoid any delay in their educational path on the other hand.

The Ministry will closely follow the progress of matters in the two schools, to ensure the regularity of the educational process in the reserve center, until the safety of the original buildings of the two schools is ensured.
