Afghanistan plans to import oil and gas from Russia

Gul Hassan, Afghanistan’s ambassador to Russia, said on Monday that his country is looking to import oil and gas from Russia.

In a statement, Hassan explained, “Trade and economic relations between Afghanistan and Russia are witnessing remarkable development, and if some problems are addressed, especially banking restrictions, Afghanistan will be able to import oil, gas, medicines, industrial goods, grains, vegetable oils, and other products from Russia.”

The ambassador also stated that Afghanistan has the ability to export a variety of products to Russia, including fresh and dried fruits, vegetables, medicinal plants, carpets, in addition to mineral resources, according to what was reported by the Russian “TASS” news agency.

He added, saying: Implementing these export and import operations “would contribute significantly to increasing the volume of trade exchange between the two countries. We are also making efforts to open an exhibition for Afghan products in Moscow, which will also contribute to the growth of the volume of trade exchange.”
