An open strike in public administrations in protest "Balancing" Unjust.

The Follow-up Committee of the Public Administration Employees Association announced the continuation of the strike and closure on Monday and Tuesday, February 2 and 3, to include all public administrations, ministries, and municipalities.

In a statement issued by it, the committee explained that “in reference to its previous statements, and after approving the budget devoid of any fairness to workers in the public sector, and rejecting what is proposed by the government to give 4 times the basis of the salary during the month of February,” it stresses its adherence to all the demands it put forward in its previous statements and during the protest movements.

Among these demands, the committee stressed the need to amend the project submitted by the Civil Service Council in a manner commensurate with its demands, while emphasizing the application of the same multipliers that will be granted to oversight bodies upon approval of this project, stressing that it “will only be satisfied with equality through fair increases that do not differentiate between employees or between sectors.”

The committee also called for the implementation of a working system for four days a week, from Monday to Thursday, from eight in the morning until two in the afternoon, along similar lines, with the necessity of granting employees additional compensation for every hour of work exceeding the specified working hours.

The committee called for “raising the transportation allowance to 1,500,000 LBP,” in order to preserve the rights of public administration employees, given that the majority of them bear transportation costs that exceed the current compensation, in addition to the number of annual working days that exceeds the rest of the wires.

The “Follow-up Committee” stressed the need for the current increase not to be less than ten salaries, in addition to what employees in the public administration receive (13 salaries + gasoline cans + perseverance), pending the completion of the study of the salary correction project, while demanding monthly financial grants starting from 1/1/2026 until the implementation of this increase begins.

The committee also called for the inclusion of a representative in the committees that will discuss the salary correction project, in order to ensure the fulfillment of all demands and the preservation of the rights of permanent and contract employees in the public administration, in addition to finding a fair and just settlement for workers on the bill, while distinguishing between those whom the administration actually needs and those who were employed by political decisions without need.

The “Follow-up Committee” concluded its statement by emphasizing that “based on all of the above, and with the government continuing to deal lightly with the grievances of the public sector, especially public administration employees, and after consulting the opinion of the majority of employees,” it was decided to continue the strike and lock-down on Monday and Tuesday, February 2 and 3, in all public administrations, ministries, and municipalities.
