The Syrian Ministry of Transport issued a statement denying the validity of the news circulating on social media regarding a new law related to replacing cars or specifying specific types of cars covered by it.
The Ministry explained in a statement published on its Telegram channel that the statements attributed to the Damascus Transport Director regarding the idea of replacing old vehicles are still just a proposal under study.
The Ministry confirmed that the issue is still in the process of research and evaluation, and no law or decision has been passed regarding it yet.
The Ministry also affirmed its constant endeavor to develop the transportation sector by studying laws and policies that serve the interests of citizens. The statement concluded by emphasizing that any decisions taken in this regard will be officially announced through approved official channels.
