On the occasion of the fifth of the holy month of Shaban, the anniversary of the birth of Imam Zain al-Abidin, whom Hezbollah chose as a day for its prisoners and Islamic resistance, following the example of the prisoners and captives after the Battle of Karbala, led by Imam Zain al-Abidin and Mrs. Zeinab, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sheikh Naim Qassem, sent a message to the prisoners and their families.
Qassem stressed that the suffering of the prisoners in their conflict with Israel is the most severe, pointing out that the behavior of the Israeli enemy towards them exceeds all the minimum limits of human rights, while the prisoners show patience and consideration, their families suffer because of their inability to relieve them, and the mujahideen in the resistance suffer because of the harm inflicted on them.
Qassem criticized the official inaction in this file, considering that the Lebanese state did not make sufficient efforts and did not exert the necessary pressure on friendly countries, and that the issue of prisoners is not among its priorities. He called for broader official and popular action and intense international pressure to release the prisoners in Israeli prisons.
He called on the Lebanese state, as responsible for its citizens, to exert pressure by all possible means and in cooperation with the countries guaranteeing the ceasefire agreement to work seriously on the release of the prisoners, stressing that this issue is considered a top priority, that their release is an integral part of sovereignty and liberation, and that stability cannot be achieved unless all prisoners are released and the fate of the missing is revealed.
He addressed the prisoners, saying that they represent the pinnacle of patience and reward, and stressed that the resistance will not abandon them and will make every effort to release them, expressing his deep hope in God. He pointed out that the Israeli enemy lacks the most basic meanings of humanity and values, and receives support from the United States, with support from the West, stressing that the resistance, as he said, “does not leave its prisoners in prisons.”
He explained that captivity is a badge of honor in the field of jihad, and that the prisoners will be the beacon of resistance, considering that their release is one of the indicators of liberation, and he appreciated the patience of their families and their bearing of the burdens of captivity. He also saluted all the forces and personalities that supported the issue of releasing the prisoners.
Qasim concluded by emphasizing that resistance is a firm choice, and includes martyrdom, wounds, captivity, and sacrifice, all of which are steps towards victory, success, the elevation of Islam, resistance, and supporting the homeland, in the footsteps of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the family of Muhammad (PBUH).
