Apple is developing a small wearable device, similar in size to a pin and close to the size of an AirTag. The device will have cameras, microphones, and a speaker, in addition to supporting wireless charging. This move may transfer the concept of “ambient intelligence” from the wrist to other places such as clothing or bags.
The new device is expected to rely on voice interaction instead of a screen, which is in line with a vision aimed at providing intelligent assistance that accompanies the user without the constant need for a phone or watch.
This idea comes at a time when Apple is looking for ways to enhance Siri’s capabilities by using external artificial intelligence models such as Google’s “Gemini,” as part of a broader plan to redesign the voice assistant to become more advanced.
It is worth noting that the “AI wearable devices” market has faced some difficulties; “Humane AI Pin” services have been discontinued after an acquisition, making the devices unusable after the closure of their connected services. (YD)
