إنجاز قبل الموعد: لجنة المال تنجز دراسة موازنة 2026

The “Finance and Budget Committee” recently completed its review of the 2026 draft budget, and the committee’s chairman, MP Ibrahim Kanaan, is expected to submit his report to the Speaker of Parliament within the next few hours. Available information indicates that the General Assembly will meet next week to discuss and ratify the budget before the deadline stipulated in the constitution.

The “Finance and Budget Committee” completed its study of the budget after a series of intensive meetings held over the past weeks, focusing on a detailed examination of the project’s provisions. These meetings witnessed in-depth discussions on the figures included, financial commitments, the possibility of adhering to the spending ceiling, in addition to observations related to revenues and necessary reforms.

The committee held successive meetings in the presence of representatives of the “Ministry of Finance” and relevant government bodies, where expenditure and revenue estimates were scrutinized, with continuous emphasis on the importance of completing the budget within the time frame specified by the constitution, in order to avoid resorting to the system of spending on the basis of the twelfth rule.

The General Assembly session is expected to be a decisive point for finalizing the final discussions on the 2026 budget, based on the report that the head of the “Finance and Budget Committee” will submit to the Presidency of the Council.
