مايكروسوفت تصدر تحديثًا عاجلًا لإصلاح مشكلة في إغلاق ويندوز 11

Microsoft has released an emergency update for Windows 11 after the “Patch Tuesday” update issued in “January” caused issues that disrupted essential functions such as shutting down the computer.

The emergency update “KB5077797,” dated January 17th and intended for Windows 11 version “23H2,” addresses the problems caused by the previous monthly update. Some systems experienced difficulties with “shutdown,” “restart,” or “hibernation” operations, often ignoring shutdown commands.

According to available details, the cause was found to be the “System Guard Secure Launch” feature, which did not interact well with the “January” update, leading some devices to attempt shutdown and then remain on or unexpectedly return to operation. This resulted in battery drain for mobile devices and energy consumption for desktop devices after users left.

Microsoft confirmed that this immediate update restores the “shutdown” and “hibernation” functions to their normal state without waiting for upcoming Tuesday updates, explaining that the glitch appeared with the cumulative update for “January,” necessitating this urgent fix.

Additionally, the update addressed an authentication issue related to “Remote Desktop,” where some users experienced login difficulties after the “January” updates due to failed or repeated credential requests.

In a similar context, Microsoft acknowledged last week another glitch related to the Tuesday update that could lead to the freezing or crashing of “classic Outlook POP account profiles,” but has not yet provided a solution to this problem.

The company advised affected users to install update “KB5077797” to address the issues related to “shutdown” and “Remote Desktop.”
