The Merengue in a Charged Atmosphere Against Levante
In the Real Madrid vs. Levante match, which took place on Saturday evening as part of the Spanish League competitions, and which ended with the Royal team winning with a score of (2-0), a tense atmosphere prevailed in the stands of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. A large segment of fans expressed their anger with chants and whistles towards the players and the administration, due to the decline in performance and results in the recent period.
The match also witnessed an exchange of boos between the fans, as protests escalated inside the stands against the “Grada” fans – the organized group affiliated with the club, which is based behind one of the two goals – when the group began to encourage the players, only to be met by another sector of the public with objection and expression of disapproval with whistles.
The Athletic newspaper pointed out that the public anger was not limited to the players only, but also extended to the club president, “Florentino Pérez,” who faced boos and whistles for the first time since 2015, when “Rafa Benítez” was the coach of Real Madrid.
Despite the victory over Levante, and achieving three new points in the Spanish League “La Liga”, the fans’ reactions reflected a state of discontent and tension within the corridors of the Madrid club.
