Hezbollah’s media relations announced the spread of a fragmented quote in the media from a speech by the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sheikh Naim Qassem, which led to a distortion of the intended meaning of his words.
In a statement issued by it, the media relations stated: “An incomplete sentence is being circulated in the media from the speech of His Eminence Sheikh Naim Qassem, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, which is: ‘They think we are simple. The restriction of weapons cannot end from now until Lebanon ends.'”
The media relations continued, clarifying: “We would like to confirm that the complete sentence, as it came in the speech verbatim and attached with the audio recording, is as follows: ‘Do they think we are simple or do they think we came from nowhere? What’s your story, man? You know that the restriction of weapons cannot end with regard to Israel from now until Lebanon ends and ceases to exist and becomes all under the Israeli umbrella, because this is one of the open things. Because it will keep telling you: “There are still weapons in this place,” “There are still weapons in this spot,” “There are still weapons in this place.”‘”
