Deputy Walid Al-Baarini affirmed his support for “every project that contributes to supporting the region’s economy and provides job opportunities for its sons,” noting the importance of personal initiatives as a fundamental pillar in the real development process, especially in light of the current economic conditions.
Al-Baarini’s statements came during his sponsorship of a celebration attended by Deputy Ahmed Rostom, and the mayors of: Halba Abdel Hamid Al-Halabi, Dahr El-Lisina Rabih Makari, Shir Hamireen Mureb Al-Abdullah, in addition to other figures.
Al-Baarini affirmed that “the development of regions is not complete without major strategic projects,” adding, “If we do not see, within a short period, serious and clear steps to open Quleiat Airport, we will have a move on the ground, a legitimate and peaceful move, because what concerns us first and last is the development of this region and the right of its people to opportunities, work and a decent life.”
He explained that “Quleiat Airport is not a political demand or a luxury, but rather a developmental and economic need that opens the doors of livelihood for people and restores balance and justice between regions,” stressing that “we will not accept that this file remains postponed or forgotten.”
