In a speech on the anniversary of the Prophet’s Birthday, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sheikh Naim Qassem, stated that sovereignty and liberation are the two fundamental pillars for the establishment of the Lebanese state.
Sheikh Qassem clarified that the idea of restricting weapons as a necessity stems from the “upper floors” in the building of the state, not from the foundations, stressing that Resolution 1701, the exclusivity of weapons, and the national security strategy are purely Lebanese issues.
He also pointed out that there are no stages in the agreements, considering that implementation is either comprehensive or not, stressing that Lebanon has fulfilled its obligations in the ceasefire agreement, and that the resistance has contributed significantly to preventing any violation from the Lebanese side.
Sheikh Qassem indicated that the state has become responsible for the security of the Lebanese after the battle of “Uli al-Ba’s” (Those of Great Might), considering that the absence of security stability impedes the achievement of political stability, no matter what achievements are made.
On the domestic front, Sheikh Qassem held the Israeli-American aggression, the financial and political cartel, and the forces of subservience to American tutelage responsible for obstructing the building of the state in Lebanon.
He criticized the performance of the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, considering that the government is responsible for the existing imbalance, pointing out that the Minister of Foreign Affairs “is working outside the policy of the state and the era,” and asked: “For whom is the Minister of Foreign Affairs?”
He continued that this performance is disrupting Lebanese diplomacy, and accused the Minister of Foreign Affairs of “manipulating civil peace and inciting sedition,” demanding that the government assume its responsibilities either by changing the minister, silencing him, or obliging him to the official policy of Lebanon.
Sheikh Qassem concluded by emphasizing that Lebanon is facing corruption, subservience, and aggression, stressing that Hezbollah participated in all steps of building the state “with great responsibility,” and that the end of the battle of Uli al-Ba’s puts Lebanon before a new stage and a new era.
