U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, sent a message to the Iranian people on Friday, expressing his support, saying: “A very brave people, and we stand with you.”

In response to a question about the possibility of a military strike on Iran, Witkoff told the media that he “really hopes to reach a diplomatic solution.”

Witkoff also identified four key points in the developments of the Iranian issue: uranium enrichment, missiles, noting the need for Iran to reduce its stockpile, the nuclear materials Iran possesses, as well as the proxies file.

He added: “If Iran wants to return to the League of Nations, we can resolve these four problems diplomatically, and that would be an excellent solution. The alternative is a bad solution.”

Witkoff believes that Iran may be willing to make concessions on these four issues, due to the difficult economic conditions it is going through.

In contrast, Tehran accused the United States on Thursday of spreading lies in order to undermine the stability of the Iranian regime, and affirmed its readiness to respond to any attack it is subjected to.

Iran’s representative to the United Nations, Gholam Hossein Darzi, said in a meeting of the Security Council: “We hold Israel and the United States responsible for fueling the situation in Iran.”

For its part, the United States affirmed on Thursday that the acts of violence in Iran affect international peace and security, and affirmed that all options are available to stop what it described as a “massacre” in Iran.

The U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Mike Waltz, stated before the Security Council that the level of violence and repression in Iran has repercussions on global peace and security.
