The return of the Saudi Al-Hilal star to the Blaugrana is surrounded by question marks.
In an unexpected development that surprised fans, Barcelona postponed the press conference dedicated to introducing Portuguese star “João Cancelo” as a new player in the ranks of the Catalan team.
“Barça” has reached a decisive agreement with Saudi Al-Hilal Club, according to which the talented Portuguese defender will be transferred on loan until the end of the 2025-2026 season.
It is worth noting that this is not “Cancelo’s” first experience with “Blaugrana”, as he previously represented the team on loan in the 2023-2024 season, coming from Manchester City, and gave an outstanding performance before returning to England.
It was planned that the official press conference would be held today, Tuesday, but the club surprised everyone by postponing it without initially giving clear reasons.
According to the Catalan newspaper “Sport”, which is close to Barcelona, the main reason for the postponement is the non-completion of some official documents and signatures between the three parties (Barcelona – Al-Hilal – the player himself).
What was surprising was that the club had issued an official statement confirming the completion of the deal through its website and official accounts, before temporarily deleting some posts related to the player, which led to increased ambiguity and speculation among followers.
