Deputy Dr. Ali Al-Miqdad, a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc, believes that the world’s attention today is directed towards the Middle East region, which has suffered for decades from continuous attacks, holding the American and “Israeli” enemy responsible, and stressing that Lebanon is not far from these targets due to its proximity to occupied Palestine since 1948.
During a political meeting in the town of Al-Alaq in the Bekaa, Al-Miqdad stated that the world is witnessing a dangerous stage heading for the worse, in light of international leaders “managing world affairs with an aggressive mentality,” pointing out that the United States, led by US President Donald Trump, is not satisfied with managing its internal affairs, but seeks to impose its control over the world politically, economically and militarily, citing what happened in Venezuela and the declared ambitions towards Greenland.
He stressed that Lebanon, despite the continuous pressures and attacks, has been able, thanks to the steadfastness of its people and the steadfastness of its children, to remain steadfast in the face of American and Zionist attacks, stressing that the Lebanese state, the government and the resistance have committed, after November 2024, to consolidating the ceasefire and implementing Resolution 1701 in full detail.
Al-Miqdad pointed out that the Lebanese army issued official statements confirming the implementation of Resolution 1701 in accordance with the oath of office and the ministerial statement, noting that Lebanon has exclusively committed to the deployment of the Lebanese army in southern Litani, while the “Israeli” enemy continued its daily violations of Lebanese sovereignty, the latest of which was launching more than 20 raids in one day, accusing Israel of killing innocent people and destroying property.
Al-Miqdad directed a direct question to the international community and the countries sponsoring the agreement, considering that Lebanon has done everything required of it, internally and at the level of the state, the army and the resistance, wondering about the role of the United States “the partner in aggression,” and about the “marginalized” French position, and about the silence of the major countries that claim to defend human rights and fight dictatorship and terrorism.
He warned that the continuation of this international silence constitutes a violation of sovereignty and national dignity, and leads to more victims and losses, calling on the Lebanese government to take a more firm stance in order to preserve the prestige of the state and the dignity of Lebanon.
Al-Miqdad concluded by stressing that what is required of the international community, if it actually exists, is to force the withdrawal of the occupation from the occupied Lebanese territories, stop the violations, and open the door for reconstruction, in addition to returning the prisoners who hold Lebanese nationality, stressing that the resistance will remain a strong barrier in the face of the enemies, alongside the Lebanese army and all the honorable people, in defense of Lebanon and its sovereignty.
