Deputy “Hani Qobaisi” clarified that the continuous Israeli attacks on Lebanon represent a blatant violation of all international resolutions, especially “Resolution 1701,” warning against seeking to impose new realities on the ground by continuing to occupy the five points and obstructing the work of the Lebanese army.
Qobaisi’s statements came during a speech he delivered on behalf of the Amal Movement at the memorial service held in the town of Yahmur Al-Shaqif on the occasion of the week anniversary of colleague “Ali Hussein Dawood,” where he began his speech by offering condolences on behalf of “Nabih Berri” and the movement’s leadership, stressing adherence to the culture of “Imam Sayyed Musa al-Sadr” and calling for the dissemination of this approach at the national level.
Qobaisi affirmed his rejection of any internal positions that question the role of the state and the national army, considering that some slogans and positions do not serve the national interest, but rather serve those who lie in wait for evil for Lebanon, in light of the daily Israeli attacks to which the country is exposed.
He pointed out that the army presented a clear and detailed presentation in the Council of Ministers about its national role, especially in the south, and about the dangers posed by the Israeli occupation, stressing that the military institution, despite the challenges and repeated attacks, continues to play its role in maintaining stability and trying to control the field situation and prevent escalation.
Qobaisi pointed out that the sensitive stage that Lebanon is going through requires the highest levels of national unity, calling for a unified national position that brings together political parties and currents behind the state, the army, and the resistance, considering that the unity of the Lebanese is the only guarantee for defending the land, strengthening steadfastness, and ending the Israeli occupation.
