The crucial match between Real and Barcelona will take place on Sunday, February 9th, at the Al-Enmaa Stadium “The Shining Jewel” in Jeddah.
Barcelona, on their way to the final, achieved a significant victory over Athletic Bilbao with a score of 5-0 in the semi-finals, confirming their ambition to retain the title they won last year.
Meanwhile, Real achieved a difficult victory over their fierce neighbor Atletico Madrid with a score of 2-1, securing their place in the final, where they seek revenge for their loss in the previous edition against Barcelona by a large score of 5-2.
It is worth noting that the Spanish Football Federation has reached an agreement with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to host the Spanish Super Cup competitions periodically until 2029.
Saudi Arabia has been hosting the tournament since it was converted to the four-team system in the 2019-2020 season, instead of a single match that used to bring together the league champion and the cup champion.
The Spanish Super Cup competitions (in its new format) have only been absent from Saudi Arabia in the 2020-2021 season, when Spain hosted it due to the repercussions of the Coronavirus pandemic “Covid 19”.
