بريطانيا تلوّح بإجراءات قاسية ضد "إكس": قد تصل إلى الحظر وغرامات باهظة!

The British newspaper “The Daily Telegraph” reported that the United Kingdom is seriously considering taking drastic measures against the “X” platform, including a possible ban, due to pornographic images created by the “Grok” robot using artificial intelligence technologies.

The newspaper quoted government sources as saying that these measures are being studied under the “Online Safety Act,” and may include imposing huge financial fines of up to billions of pounds sterling or preventing access to this social network within the borders of the United Kingdom.

The issue relates to obscene images generated by the “Grok” robot in response to user requests, which target women and children, also known as “deepfakes.” The newspaper pointed out that prominent figures have already been affected by such images, including Catherine, Princess of Wales, a number of celebrities, and members of the Cabinet and Parliament.

In a radio interview, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer confirmed that he had asked the media regulator Ofcom to study all available ways to confront this problem.

Starmer stated: “Platform X must control the situation, and Ofcom has our full support to take action on this matter. This is wrong. It’s illegal. And we will not tolerate it.”

This British threat comes in the wake of a similar move by the European Commission, which on January 8 accused platform “X” of allowing “Grok” users to produce anti-Semitic content and content that incites child sexual abuse.

The Commission directed the platform to retain all documents related to this neural network until the end of 2026, in a move seen as a prelude to filing new legal charges. (Russia Today)
