Real Madrid v FC Barcelona: Spanish Super Cup

The Catalan club moves quickly after its star’s injury

Barcelona received a painful blow before the start of its campaign in the Spanish Super Cup held in Saudi Arabia.

The “Blaugrana” begin their campaign in the tournament by facing Athletic Bilbao in the semi-finals tomorrow, Wednesday. The Spanish Super Cup events are broadcast via the “Thmanyah App,” the exclusive broadcaster of the Saudi Professional League (Roshn Saudi League).

According to the Spanish newspaper “Sport,” German goalkeeper “Marc-André ter Stegen” was forced to leave the team’s camp in Jeddah after suffering an injury during training on Tuesday evening.

“Ter Stegen” participated in the training session normally, but was forced to withdraw about 25 minutes before the end after feeling pain that prevented him from completing the training, with the Catalan club later confirming his absence from the tournament matches and his inability to participate.

Following confirmation of the German goalkeeper’s absence, the Barcelona management moved quickly and decided to summon the young goalkeeper “Diego Kochen” to join the team’s delegation in Saudi Arabia, in order to compensate for the absence of “Ter Stegen” and strengthen the goalkeeping position.

It is expected that “Kochen” will travel in the next few hours, specifically on Wednesday morning, to be ready for the coaching staff, in anticipation of any emergency during the team’s matches in the Super Cup.
