A recent report revealed that the reason for your mobile phone battery draining quickly is not necessarily a defect in the device itself, but rather a direct result of popular applications running in the background and consuming battery power without you realizing it. The report indicated a list of ten prominent applications that are considered the most draining on smartphone batteries, even when not used directly, making deleting them or limiting their use critical to extending battery life.
The Most Dangerous Battery-Consuming Applications:
The report explained, based on an analysis of these applications, that they combine intensive use and background operation, and they are as follows:
“Netflix”: Consumes 1500% of the battery per month, with 60 hours of use and 13 hours of background operation.
“TikTok”: Consumes 825% per month, with 33 hours of use and 10 hours in the background.
“YouTube”: Consumes 540% of the battery per month, with 6–7 hours in the background.
“THREADS” application: Consumes 460% per month, with 6.9 hours in the background.
“Snapchat”: Consumes 320% per month, and half of this consumption comes from background operation, with 16 hours of use.
“CAPCUT”: Consumes 300% per month, with 10 hours of use, and most of the consumption is due to actual use and not background operation.
“Instagram”: Consumes 300% per month, with 15 hours of use and 4.5 hours in the background.
“Facebook”: Consumes 270% per month, with 6 hours of background operation.
“Spotify”: Consumes 5% per hour of battery, and with 13.5 hours in the background, it becomes a silent consumer.
“CHATGPT”: Consumes 200% per month, with 20% per hour of active use.
Why Are These Applications Dangerous to the Battery?
The main reason is that they run in the background without the user’s knowledge, consuming the internet and energy at the same time, and rely on video, artificial intelligence, or the camera, as they send updates and notifications continuously.
