بيان شديد اللهجة من الحكومة الفنزويلية بعد قصف العاصمة!

The Venezuelan government issued an official statement expressing its strong condemnation of what it described as a “serious military aggression” against the country, and held the United States fully responsible. The government affirmed that it would strive, through the submission of official complaints, to condemn and hold the American government accountable for its actions.

The Venezuelan government announced its intention to submit official complaints to the United Nations Security Council, the United Nations through its Secretary-General, as well as the Group of Latin American and Caribbean States and the Non-Aligned Movement, based on its belief that what happened constitutes a direct threat to international peace and stability, especially in Latin America and the Caribbean region, and endangers the lives of millions of people.

The statement emphasized that this attack represents a “flagrant violation of the Charter of the United Nations,” which stresses respect for the sovereignty of states and prohibits the use of force against them. It pointed out that the real goal of this aggression is only to seize Venezuela’s important strategic resources, foremost among them oil and precious minerals, and a desperate attempt to break its political independence by brute force, which the government affirmed “will not succeed” at all.

The statement mentioned that this aggression targeted civilian and military areas in Caracas, in addition to the states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira. Venezuela announced its categorical rejection and explicit condemnation before the international community of this “heinous imperialist attack.”

The government affirmed that the people of Venezuela and its Bolivarian National Armed Forces, in complete unity and integration between the people, the army, and the police, are deployed throughout the country to protect national sovereignty and ensure peace. It called on all social and political forces to activate public mobilization plans and reject what it described as an attempt to impose a “colonial war” to eliminate the existing republican regime and impose “regime change” in alliance with what it called the “fascist oligarchy,” considering that these attempts will inevitably fail as previous attempts have failed.

In a related context, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister announced that President Nicolás Maduro had issued an immediate decision to activate national defense plans for the entire Venezuelan territory. He stressed that the United States is responsible for the recent attacks, and that any attempt to change the ruling regime in the country “will fail as all previous attempts have failed.”

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro had announced earlier that “Caracas is being bombed,” and called on the Organization of American States and the United Nations to hold an emergency and immediate meeting. Venezuelan sources also reported that military bases, the Minister of Defense’s house, and a port in the capital were subjected to heavy bombardment, amid the sound of loud explosions and power outages in various areas. So far, there has been no official comment from the US Department of Defense.
