عز الدين: المقاومة قلبت موازين المعركة وألحقت الهزيمة بإسرائيل

Member of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc, MP Hassan Ezzeddine, affirmed that “the path of the resistance, from its inception to the present day, has constituted a historic shift in the equation of the conflict with Israel,” considering that it has been able, for approximately 18 years, to “end the occupation of most of the Lebanese territories and force the enemy out defeated without achieving any of its goals.” He emphasized that this achievement “was not only military but was based on a doctrinal and faithful spirit that created a real balance in the balance of power.”

Ezzeddine’s remarks came during a speech he delivered in the town of Al-Kharaeb at a memorial ceremony, where he pointed out that the recent battles, despite the pain and sacrifices that accompanied them, renewed the emphasis on the strength of the field. He added that the resistance youth “have proven that they are the children of a national environment that believes in its choice, rooted in the school of Karbala and its values, and capable of thwarting the most dangerous plans,” noting that Israel deployed five military divisions to occupy five villages but did not succeed in doing so.

He explained that this fighting spirit is the main motivation for any confrontation, warning that its absence would allow Israel to impose new settlement realities on the line of contact and establish buffer zones under economic or tourist names, leading to the elimination of life and preventing residents from returning to their villages.

Ezzeddine addressed the post-2006 period, considering that the United States seeks, through politics, pressure, and conspiracies, to achieve what Israel failed to achieve on the ground. He pointed out that Lebanon and the resistance have adhered to all the provisions of the agreements, while Israel continues to disavow any commitment. He called on the Lebanese state and the sponsors of the agreement to force Israel to stop its attacks, paving the way for a pure internal national dialogue on strategies that guarantee Lebanon’s strength and sovereignty, away from any external interference.

Regarding the governmental matter, Ezzeddine affirmed that the government has clear responsibilities that it committed to in its ministerial statement, foremost of which are liberating the land, stopping the attacks, returning the prisoners, and launching a reconstruction workshop. He stressed that inaction is unjustified, considering that the state is capable of raising its voice in international forums and exposing Israeli attacks, and issuing a clear political decision tasking the Lebanese army with taking all necessary measures to protect sovereignty and secure the return of citizens to their villages and properties, especially in the front-line villages.

He also urged the government to take serious action to release the Lebanese citizens who were abducted by Israel after the ceasefire, considering that what happened was “an abduction operation, not a capture,” and a flagrant violation of international laws and norms. He concluded by emphasizing that accelerating reconstruction is an urgent national necessity to prevent Israel from exploiting any vacuum to impose new realities, stressing that the people are ready to return even with the least necessities of life, to convey a clear message that the land belongs to its people, and that adherence to it is an irreversible choice, warning at the same time of the danger of internal alignment with the enemy, as it poses an additional threat to the unity of the nation in confrontation.
