The media office of President Saad Hariri issued an official statement today, Thursday, stating:
“President Saad Hariri categorically and unequivocally denies, in its entirety, what was stated in the report broadcast by Al Jadeed channel regarding any communication or meeting, direct or indirect, with the so-called “Abu Omar,” whether in Abu Dhabi as claimed or in any other place, or through any means of communication of any kind.”
The statement confirmed that the information contained in the aforementioned report is mere fabrication and misinformation, completely unfounded, lacking the minimum standards of professionalism and credibility, and based on the fabrication of false information unrelated to reality.
The media office warned of the danger of this method that relies on spreading lies and promoting rumors, holding “Al Jadeed channel” fully responsible for the consequences of what it broadcast, demanding an official and public apology and immediate and clear correction in accordance with the legal procedures followed, in addition to refraining from involving President Hariri’s name in smear campaigns based on delusions and fabrications.
In conclusion, the office affirmed its full right to take all legal measures to prosecute anyone who stands behind these allegations or contributes to publishing or promoting them before the competent judicial authorities.
