السيد: من يضلل اللبنانيين بشأن قانون "الفجوة" واستعادة الودائع؟

MP Jamil El-Sayyed wrote on his “X” platform account a tweet saying: “The Council of Ministers and the mess of the gap law and the recovery of deposits, who is lying to the people?!”

Initially, he pointed out that during the vote, 13 ministers approved the law, and he explained that it was enough for only one minister out of these 13 ministers to abstain from voting in order for the law to fail because it lost the majority. He asked: “Who should this minister have been?!”

Al-Sayyed added: “Secondly, in statements, ministers from parliamentary blocs told people that they were against the law, others were with it, and still others were with it and then against it. Only the head of government adopted it and tried to market the Mujadara to people as Baklava and threw it to Parliament, so who do you believe?”

He continued: “Thirdly, in the content, financial experts and specialists agreed that the government’s project is a process of swindling people, obscuring the thieves, ignoring the reasons, pardoning accountability, lavishing promises, hiding numbers, and selling illusions?!”

In conclusion to his tweet, Al-Sayyed asked: “What reform are they talking about?! And what deposits will they return?! And is this the same country that sparked the so-called “October 17 revolution” because of raising the cellular tariff by 6 cents?!”
