لبنان على مفترق طرق بعد اجتماع "ترامب" و"نتنياهو": ما السيناريوهات المحتملة؟

Amid escalating tensions, and coinciding with the meeting between US President “Donald Trump” and Israeli Prime Minister “Benjamin Netanyahu,” reliable political sources indicated that the possibility of establishing a buffer zone in southern Lebanon has become almost certain, estimated at about 90%.

This possibility is based on “Trump’s” statements describing Hezbollah as “bad” and the Lebanese government as “weak,” which can be considered a green light for any Israeli military action, instead of disarming Hezbollah.

The sources clarify to Red TV that Israeli military reinforcements are not new, as Israel has previously formed rapid intervention units dedicated to the northern front.

It is expected that Israel will carry out swift and targeted strikes inside Lebanese territory, relying on accurate intelligence and support from the United States and Britain, while avoiding engaging in a large-scale ground war due to its high costs.

The sources believe that these strikes will establish a new security situation represented by a buffer zone, which will serve as the price for freezing the issue of disarmament, thus rendering Hezbollah’s weapons, from the Israeli perspective, ineffective.

The sources believe that, according to the data, “disarmament does not serve Hezbollah’s interest, but it serves the interest of the Lebanese state,” despite acknowledging that international powers “do not want a Lebanese army capable of confronting Israel.”
