مركبات موجودة بالشاي والكاكاو تقوي صحة العيون

A recent medical study has shown that polyphenol compounds, which are bioactive substances extracted from plants, may play an important role in protecting vision and maintaining eye health.

Polyphenols are abundantly available in sources such as green tea, berries, and dark chocolate. These bioactive molecules contribute to reducing the risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes, in addition to enhancing cognitive functions and gut health.

Research indicates that by 2025, incorporating these foods into the daily diet will be one of the most effective ways to support longevity and prevent chronic diseases.

The results of the recent study, published in the journal “Nutrients,” revealed that these compounds possess protective properties against many eye diseases associated with oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, and metabolic disorders.

According to the study, polyphenols may contribute to reducing the risk of common diseases such as:

* “Glaucoma”.
* “Diabetic Retinopathy”.
* “Age-Related Macular Degeneration”.
* “Cataracts”.

Eye Health Supplements

The study analyzed the effect of various types of polyphenols, including anthocyanins, curcumin, resveratrol, quercetin, and ferulic acid. The results showed that these compounds are capable of reducing damage to retinal and optic nerve cells, reducing inflammation, influencing the pathological growth of blood vessels within the eye, and supporting antioxidant systems responsible for protecting eye tissues.

Researchers pointed out that most of the currently available results are derived from laboratory experiments conducted on cells or animals, which calls for conducting large-scale clinical studies on humans to determine the effectiveness of these compounds accurately, determine appropriate dosages, methods of administration, and ensure their long-term safety.

Scientists emphasized that polyphenols should be considered as dietary supplements that support eye health, used in parallel with traditional medical treatments, and not as a direct substitute for prescribed medications.
