Levante UD v Real Madrid CF - LaLiga EA Sports

The Argentine player Franco Mastantuono is going through a critical period in his career with Real Madrid, as his participation has decreased recently. After being a key player in some matches, he has become a substitute who rarely participates, due to a decline in his performance, which prompted coach Xabi Alonso to reduce his reliance on him.

The Spanish newspaper “AS” stated that Mastantuono is “walking a tightrope,” and that his position is linked to the developments of Nico Paz’s situation, who is performing excellently with Como in the Italian League, which has made him the focus of Real Madrid’s attention again, which represents a threat to the position of the young Argentine player.

The newspaper also indicated that Real Madrid has a clause in Paz’s sale contract that allows them to recover him during the summer of 2026 for an amount ranging between 9 and 10 million euros, and this option is being studied by the administration if the player continues to develop during his season in Italy.

“AS” explained that Paz’s experience in the Italian League, and what he has gained in terms of tactical maturity and consistency in play, may increase his chances of returning, which will create additional competition in the attacking positions of the first team.

In this context, Mastantuono must show a strong reaction, especially with the approach of 2026, which may witness changes in the competition within the team, while the final decisions remain pending until the performance developments in the next season become clear.
