During the Worldwide Developers Conference “WWDC 2025,” Apple unveiled the iPadOS 26 operating system. This new version aims to enhance the efficiency of iPad devices and increase their flexibility, thus bringing them closer to the capabilities of laptops and desktop computers.
The system comes with a completely new design under the name “Liquid Glass,” which gives the interface a vibrant and transparent look. In addition, the system includes a three-dimensional lock screen and icons that automatically change according to the user’s selection of light or dark mode.
iPadOS 26 provides an advanced window management system, allowing multiple windows to be opened simultaneously, and their sizes and arrangement to be changed. It also allows the use of controls similar to those found in computers, including “Tiling” and “Exposé” features. A bottom menu bar has also been added, a design familiar to Mac users.
In the context of enhancing productivity, Apple has developed basic applications such as “Preview” for previewing and editing PDF and image files, and has improved the “Files” application by adding new tools to customize the display method and organize files. The system now also supports background tasks, allowing heavy processing operations to be performed while using other applications.
iPadOS 26 relies on “Apple Intelligence” technology to provide advanced features such as instant translation in messages and calls, and AI-powered productivity tools. The “Image Playground” feature has also seen significant improvements, allowing images to be created using text descriptions.
