The Minister of Labor, Dr. Muhammad Haidar, issued an official decision strictly prohibiting the advertisement and promotion of foreign domestic worker recruitment agencies. This decision stems from public interest considerations and affirms the provisions of Article 12 of Decision No. 74/1 issued on 01/07/2025, pertaining to the regulation of the work of these agencies, in addition to Lebanon’s commitment to fulfilling the labor standards specified in Arab and international agreements.
According to the decision, owners of foreign domestic worker recruitment agencies are strictly prohibited from promoting their advertising activities through all available media, whether visual, audio, or written, as well as through social media platforms, especially what is known as “status display” on WhatsApp and similar applications, with the threat of applying legal penalties to any office that violates this decision.
The decision also stressed the need for the Department of Labor Inspection and Prevention and Safety to monitor the implementation of its provisions and take the necessary measures to ensure full compliance with it.
